Historic Solar Box Audio Tour

We are excited to announce that 3️⃣ additional audio tour stops in Downtown Greensboro were funded by a grant from Georgia Historic Preservation Division. Get ready to "push the button" at The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Greene County Court House, and Greensboro First United Methodist Church. These locations join 4️⃣ audio tour sites that are currently being produced for Historic Springfield Baptist Church, The Baber House - Greene County African American Museum, Inc., the LL Wyatt Jail, and the Greensboro Depot funded under an earlier grant.

The Old Rock Gaol

Located directly behind the Greene County Court House, the Old Gaol (jail) housed Greensboro's prisoners well into the 1890's. Today visitors can touch the two foot granite walls, look down over the gallows, and stand in an actual cell to imagine what life was like for the accused. Open by appointment.
