The idea behind The National is simple:
to provide a casual neighborhood gathering spot reminiscent of the bars and cafés we’ve enjoyed on travels to Europe and beyond. Since 2007, we’ve served Mediterranean inspired food, wine and cocktails in our intimate dining room and bar. While our menu points to culinary traditions from abroad, we value our local farmers and our dishes reflect the changing seasons in Northeast Georgia.
Even more than food and drink, the best of The National is our people. The National is brought to you by General Manager and Owner Erin Wilson, Chef Burns Sullivan, Bar Manager Shannon Lane, Front of House Manager Lucy Ralston, Founder Peter Dale (owner of Seabear Oyster Bar, Condor Chocolates and Maepole) and a team of brilliant hospitality professionals.
Seabear Oyster Bar is a casual and lively neighborhood
gathering spot. Our food and drink represents the best of sea and land,
drawing inspiration from near and far. Grab a seat, a pile of icy oysters,
a cold beverage, a few plates, and settle in for a journey far
from your worries or cares.
In July 2006, Alicia Segars and Cooper Hudson opened this charming retro diner that quickly became one of the must-see breakfast spots in Athens, GA. Mama’s Boy has not wavered in its service or vision to offer forever fantastic, made-from-scratch food with southern hospitality. Come in for classics like the Georgia Peach French Toast, Buttermilk Biscuits, and a refreshing glass of Strawberry Lemonade.
"South", as locals refer to it, boasts creative Southern cuisine in an iconic downtown setting. Inside the old Georgian Hotel, this award-winning restaurant offers an intensely unique and flavorful experience coupled with an ambiance that offers a little glimpse into the history of this quaint Southern town.
True to its name, you'll find an array of traditional comfort food staples such as fried green tomatoes, grits, and collard greens - each with a modern revitalization. Dinner offerings include dishes such as low country shrimp and grits, grilled lamb chops, and braised pork BBQ, along with vegetarian options. Stop in for brunch every Saturday and Sunday for hearty portions of fried chicken, skillets, biscuits n' gravy, and eggs Benedict.
Enjoy quality, handcrafted cocktails and an extensive selection of wine and local craft beer. This is a great spot for any occasion - a private dining space is available for rehearsal dinners, parties, meet & greets, or any other social gathering. Our sophisticated but approachable menu reflects a kinship with our sister restaurant Trappeze Pub but maintains a unique Southern charm that we can call our own.
We chose the symbol of the vidalia onion in celebration of our southern roots. From our open grill, flames can be seen as our chefs prepare menus inspired by southern ingredients with our own unique twist. We use traditional methods like open fire, grilling, brining, pickling and preserving. The Last Resort Grill has a long standing commitment to serving our local community the highest level of quality food and service but it is in the relationships with our guests and suppliers that truly distinguish our restaurant.
